MATTHEW T. BERNARD, MD

Matthew T. Bernard is a practicing emergency medicine board certified physician and has nearly 10 years experience in directing Emergency Departments throughout Louisiana, including at the Touro Infirmary ED currently, and previously NO East ED, Lallie Kemp ED, and as the assistant director of Bogalusa ED.

 

He has received the highest awards for recognition in his company such as Medical Director of the Year numerous times in a very large nationwide ED contracting company.

 

He is from New Orleans, went to medical school at LSU in New Orleans and was the last class to start at Charity Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency.

 

Matthew T. Bernard lives in Mandeville, Louisiana with his wife and 2 children.  He continues to do research and publish articles working to improve patient care and quality.  He is currently in the process of writing a book and continues to lead the ED at the oldest operating hospital in New Orleans, Touro Infirmary.

L.J. RELLE, BBA, NRP, CCP-C, FP-C

L.J. Relle is a career Firefighter/Paramedic serving the greater New Orleans area for over 12 years. He is a veteran responder of Hurricane Katrina and many other industrial and natural disasters. 

 

L.J. began his career in the fire service while he studied at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.  L.J. has performed various roles in high call volume Fire/EMS/Critical Care agencies, which have attributed to his experience and passion for improving response, training, and management in the realm of emergency medicine.

 

L.J. has a passion for teaching procedural skills, focusing on airway management, and is a nationally recognized procedural skills educator.  He currently serves as an EMS and AHA Instructor for a 167-member, internationally accredited Fire/EMS Agency.
